Choral Scholarship Scheme
Thames Philharmonic Choir launched a new Choral Scholarship scheme for the 2021-22 season offering 4 TPC scholarships (one for each voice part) to singers aged 18-30, or students in full or part time music education. TPC is keen to support aspiring young singers wishing to pursue a solo career in music or those who wish to continue singing to a high technical standard while working in other fields. The scheme is open to anyone who enjoys singing, whether studying music, starting music careers or simply wanting to expand their singing and performance opportunities. The post offers a stipend (currently £1,500 a year), together with some paid solo performing and recital opportunities.
If this sounds interesting, please find more information about the scheme including details of how to apply here TPC scholarship details and prepare two pieces of repertoire for audition in front of TPC Music Director Harry Bradford and Accompanist Richard Leach.
You are welcome to apply at any time during the year, and the deadline for applications is Friday 29 May. The auditions for the 2026-27 choral year will take place on Saturday 6 June 2026 at St Margaret’s church in Putney (Putney Park Lane, SW15 5HU).

Matthew Cooke, Choral Scholar 2022-24
"Becoming a TPC Scholar has provided an opportunity to perform some key choral works and, at times, I've been pushed out of my comfort zone to experience difficult repertoire.
And being a recitalist is incredibly different from singing on stage as an actor, so another valuable experience.
Overall it's been a great learning – and fun – experience"
