Choral Scholars' Reunion Recital
Friday 30 Jan, 7pm

We are thrilled that all our TPC Scholars will get together in our Reunion Recital this Friday — and they’re just as excited to be coming home to TPC.

Hear what some of them have to say about their time with TPC and what the experience has meant to them in the four videos below.

Do come along to hear their wonderful voices again, see how they’ve developed, and discover what they’re doing now.

The recital begins at 7pm on Friday 30 January at St Margaret’s, with drinks from 6.30pm.

Entry is free, with donations welcomed in support of the TPC Scholarship Scheme.

We’re also delighted that James Orford will be accompanying the recital, very kindly stepping in for Richard during his recovery. It promises to be a really special evening.

Choral Scholarship Scheme

Thames Philharmonic Choir launched a new Choral Scholarship scheme for the 2021-22 season offering 4 TPC scholarships (one for each voice part) to singers aged 18-30, or students in full or part time music education. TPC is keen to support aspiring young singers wishing to pursue a solo career in music or those who wish to continue singing to a high technical standard while working in other fields. The scheme is open to anyone who enjoys singing, whether studying music, starting music careers or simply wanting to expand their singing and performance opportunities. The post offers a stipend of £1,200 a year, together with some paid solo performing and recital opportunities.

If this sounds interesting, please find more information about the scheme including details of how to apply here   TPC scholarship details  and prepare two pieces of repertoire for audition in front of TPC Music Director Harry Bradford and Accompanist Richard Leach.

You are welcome to apply at any time during the year and the deadline for applications is Friday 30 May.

The auditions for the 2025-26 choral year will take place on Saturday 7 June 2025 at St Margaret’s church in Putney (Putney Park Lane, SW15 5HU).

If you are considering applying, do watch the two short videos below about the experiences of two scholars.

Matthew Cooke, Choral Scholar 2022-24

"Becoming a TPC Scholar has provided an opportunity to perform some key choral works and, at times, I've been pushed out of my comfort zone to experience difficult repertoire.

And being a recitalist is incredibly different from singing on stage as an actor, so another valuable experience.

Overall it's been a great learning – and fun – experience"

Hear about the experience of Natalka Pasicznyk (TPC scholar in 2023-4).
